About SummitCore

We built SummitCore because businesses deserve an IT partner that actually acts like one, honest, proactive, and invested in your success.

Built for Businesses That Deserve Better IT

SummitCore Technology Group was founded on a straightforward belief: small and mid sized businesses deserve the same quality of IT support and strategy that large enterprises receive, without the enterprise price tag, the impersonal service, or the one size fits all approach.

Too many businesses are stuck with IT providers that only show up when something breaks. We built SummitCore to be different, a partner that proactively monitors your environment, plans ahead with you, and treats your technology as the business asset it is.

Headquartered in Southern California and serving clients nationally, our team brings enterprise level expertise to organizations of every size, from 10 employees to growing mid market companies, with the personal attention you can only get from a team that genuinely cares.

The Engineer Behind the Company

SummitCore was founded by someone who has lived on both sides of the table, the enterprise datacenter and the managed service provider, and built this company to do it right.

Ryan Aziz

Founder & Principal Engineer

VMware VCP 7.0-DCV CompTIA Security+ Microsoft MCSA CompTIA A+

With over 16 years of hands-on experience across SMB, mid-market, and federal enterprise environments, Ryan brings a depth of technical knowledge that most IT firms simply cannot match. His career spans virtualization architecture, storage engineering, disaster recovery, zero-trust network design, endpoint security, and cloud infrastructure. Not as a generalist, but as someone who has engineered and owned these systems at scale.

Before founding SummitCore, Ryan served as a Senior Systems Engineer at a top MSSP in Southern California, where he led infrastructure projects across both the managed services and professional services divisions. There, he architected high-availability datacenters, designed SD-WAN and Palo Alto, Meraki, and Cisco network topologies, executed live disaster recovery operations, and helped clients navigate compliance-driven infrastructure redesigns. He mentored junior engineers, led client facing technical consultations, and drove strategic recommendations that aligned technology decisions with business outcomes.

Prior to that, Ryan served as a senior infrastructure engineer supporting federal health science operations at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. There, he architected the institute-wide observability platform using Datadog. Designing the monitoring strategy, building custom dashboards, and establishing alert pipelines that gave teams real-time visibility across complex, multi-tier environments at an application and code level.

He also designed and maintained load-balanced internal and public-facing applications serving researchers, science lab departments, and federal stakeholders. Systems where performance and availability weren't optional. Ryan additionally led security and penetration testing engagements across these federally regulated environments, proactively identifying and closing vulnerabilities before they could be exploited.

Trusted by Organizations Across Southern California

From community credit unions and hospitals to transit agencies, manufacturers, and lenders, here's what our clients have to say.

"Our environment sits at the intersection of strict regulatory requirements and real operational pressure. Ryan understood both without prompting. He resolved routing issues quietly undermining our SaaS reliability, enforced MFA across the organization, and tightened our Microsoft 365 posture to meet compliance standards. We also had him evaluate VDI as a long-term direction — he gave us an honest take, not a sales pitch. That kind of guidance is harder to find than it should be."

CU
Senior Vice President of IT
Credit Union, Los Angeles County

"When Ryan arrived, I was embarrassed by the state of things. Exchange had been broken for a while. Our network had routing problems we kept papering over. Backups weren't protecting what they were supposed to. He didn't make me feel bad about any of it — he just started fixing it. Segmented the network properly, rebuilt the backup setup, replaced a DR architecture that honestly shouldn't have been in a healthcare environment. For the first time in years I felt like I could actually stand behind what we had."

HO
Director of Information Technology
Hospital, San Bernardino County

"I'm not an IT person, so I'll tell you what I observed. Our systems went down constantly. Our IT team had no confidence in our backups. We were running on borrowed time. Ryan fixed it — I don't know all of what that involved, but our operations are stable now in a way they haven't been in years. My team noticed the difference before anyone had finished explaining what changed. That tells you everything."

T1
Chief of Services
Transit Agency, California

"I've worked with enough vendors to know when someone's recommending what's right versus what's profitable for them. Ryan recommended StoreOnce over what we were leaning toward — not because it was flashier, but because it actually fit. Same pattern throughout: assessed our storage honestly, built a DR strategy with real redundancy, got our identity management where it needed to be. Every recommendation had a rationale I could follow. When advice is clearly in your interest and not theirs, you notice."

T2
Chief Technology Officer
Transit Agency, California

"I'll skip the usual superlatives. The migration off our Synergy infrastructure was complex — multi-VLAN, DMZ, full stack — and Ryan executed it cleanly. DR site in Dallas, Alletra 6000 replication configured correctly, immutable backups in place before most of our peers were even thinking about that. His take on GreenLake was also useful and clearly not commission-shaped. If you're evaluating him from a technical standpoint: the work stands on its own."

LM
Senior Systems Technical Lead
Lending & Mortgage Company, West & Central US

"Ransomware hits and you find out fast who can actually help. Ryan could. Got the environment stable quickly, then dealt with the underlying mess — we had firewall sprawl from multiple vendors that had been causing recurring problems for longer than I want to admit. He cleaned it up, standardized everything, cut costs in the process. We came out of it in better shape than before it happened. Didn't expect that going in."

WC
IT Director
Wetsuits Company, Northern California

"Friday afternoon we got hit. Ryan was on it the same day and worked through the entire weekend. By Monday our people were back at work. I can't tell you the technical details of what he did — that's not my world. What I can tell you is that operations came back online, the threat was gone, and whatever he put in place means we're better protected now than before any of this happened. That's the whole story from where I sit."

UC
Chief Operating Officer
Uniforms Company, Los Angeles County

"My background is in research, not technology. But I know when a decision makes sense. We were at a crossroads — keep pouring money into aging hardware or make the move to cloud. Ryan laid out the actual tradeoffs without steering us anywhere. He moved us through the site relocation, simplified what we had, and made a clear case for Azure over continued on-prem investment. We're now set up for growth instead of just treading water. For a lab, that distinction matters more than people realize."

ML
Doctor & Research Scientist
Medical Laboratory Services, Murrieta CA

"We're a utility. Data protection isn't a preference here, it's a regulatory requirement. Our previous backup setup was fragmented and wouldn't have held up in an audit — I knew it and it bothered me. Ryan replaced it with a unified solution in Azure with immutability and extended retention across both on-prem and cloud. I can walk into an audit now with actual confidence. He also understood public-sector constraints without needing them spelled out. That's rarer than you'd think."

WA
Information Technology Manager
Water Authority, Southern California

"We manage thousands of domains. When email authentication breaks at that scale, customers stop receiving your messages and your domain reputation takes a hit. That's not a tech problem, that's a business problem. Ryan sorted it out — standardized DKIM, DMARC, and SPF across the board. Deliverability recovered, the security gaps closed. Sounds like a narrow fix. The impact wasn't."

EH
Electrical Holding Company
Orange County

"Power surges. Systems that wouldn't come back up. No warning. Ryan stabilized things quickly — but honestly, what mattered more to us was everything after. He found backup configurations that had been hiding real exposure for some time, built a proper Azure environment with appropriate isolation, and kept our managing partners informed at every step. In this firm, client confidentiality and continuity aren't talking points. The communication he maintained throughout was worth as much to us as the technical fix."

LF
Law Firm
Orange County

"Three priorities: VMware Horizon deployment for virtual desktop access across the organization, Log4j remediation, and an enterprise Active Directory Certificate Authority for SSL inspection. All three delivered on schedule. The public sector has specific standards around documentation, security, and accountability. SummitCore met them without having to be managed through it."
